Research Abstract |
Environmental problems are familiar problems and it is important as the system of the entire earth. However, a lot of current states to which the rule, the standard, and the law concerning various environments are decided by an unscientific judgment because of the interest of the region and the country are seen. A statistical science has the responsibility that should contribute to the solution of environmental problems by constructing a scientific methodology that is appropriate for an individual field based on the above-mentioned current state. In this research, the water environment is paid to attention in environmental problems, it discusses, some of the theme in which a statistical science should deeply take part are examined with the environmental scientist, the problem is arranged based on the viewpoint of a statistical science, and an interdisciplinary research for the problem solving has been promoted. Concretely, it has chiefly grappled with the following three problems. ・Evaluation and modeling of water quality monitor ・Statistical evaluation concerning rapid chronic toxicity value ・Formation of partnership of statistical science and environmental science The Institute of statistical mathematics was assumed sponsoring to form, and a new ISM symposium "A new bridge between statistical science and environmental science" were held. Workshop "Environmental Correctives and Measures for Sustaining Ecological Conditions" was held.
