Research Abstract |
Miyoshi clarified two indescribabilities of computation and introduced a suite of metaphysical devices inspired from computational reflection to "tame" these difficulties indirectly. In concrete, he introduced three forms of description, so-called Hume-Bergson forms, and show that it is possible to get obviousness through these forms beyond these obstacles. Next, he applied his theory to time studies. Comparison with M. Irifuji's approach showed their close affinity. And towards applications to psychopathology and physics, he also has started preparatory research. Todayama discussed problems which appears when naturalize computations as phenomena. He did rather treat concrete examples than explore abstract concept of computation. Especially, he advocated naturalization of epistemology from the view of realism. Gunji studied dynamic and local semantics with infomorphisms and the theory of observational heterarchy, and developed a general theory of sysmtes which have robust behavior in unstable environments. He extracted the idea of open limits from these researches. Higaki found the significance of Kitaro Nishida's philosophical approach to some mathematical concepts from the viewpoint of computations as phenomena. Then he noticed the relation between Nishida's and G. Deleuze's theories of life and explores their parallel stories. Shiotani regard "computation" as a fundamental natural kind which represents an intersection of various areas including philosophy of science and technology studies, and proposed to reconsider ordinary studies of "computation" under the slogan "computation = extension of connection of operations".
