Research Abstract |
This investigation research created the basic data for preservation of a cultural property and restoration by the newest optical apparatus and the newest digital technology. We investigated about Buddha of Mitsushima Tsushima Nagasaki in Japan, stone-carved Buddha in Korea supported by The Ministry of Education science research assistance and Korean research organizations. 2003 Investigation Each located in North Gyeongsang Province, a measurement-gathering survey and 3-D digitization were conducted on the stone-carved Buddhist image at Pukchiri, and related set of three, stone-carved Buddhist deities at Kahung-ri. At approximately six meters in height, the Pukchiri figure is the largest in the study, with the Kahung-ri figure, at three meters, measuring roughly half of that. 2004 Investigation: Both located in Chungcheongbuk Province, a measurement-gathering survey and 3-D digitization were conducted on the stone-carved Buddhist image at JungWon Bonghwang-ri, and set of three, stone-carved Buddhist deities at Cheongwon Bejung-ri. By this investigation, the details of the image which was not found became clear at the photograph or the rubbed copy. 2005 Investigation We surveyed and conducted 3-D digitization on the standing Nyorai excavated from the temple ruins at Janghang-ri, the relief carvings from the west pagoda, eight-sided pedestal which is 1.7 meter-tall. Investigation in the Gyeongju museum, upper body section of the standing Nyorai and additional three disjoined fragments from the museum's storage.
