Research Abstract |
THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY WAS TO FIGURE OUT THE PLURAL VIEWPOINTS OF THE BODY EXPERIENCED IN TERMS OF THE EASTERN AND THE WESTERN COMPLEX IDEAS THROUGH THE INTERPRETATION OF THE NARRATIVE AND DESCRIPTIVE MATERIALS OF THE BODY BEING. BY EXAMINING THE VARIED BODY EXPERIENCE, THREE VIEWPOINTS OF THE BODY BEING WERE EXTRACTED AS FOLLOWS ; FIRSTLY, THE POINT WAS GOTTEN FROM THE WESTERN BODYWORK APPROACHES SUCH AS AN IDEOKINETIC AND AN ALEXANDER TECHNIQUES WHICH AIM AT ENHANCING THE COGNITIVE DIMENSION OF THE BY FOCUSSING ON THE APPROPRIATE POSTURE AND IMAGERY. THE IDEO-KINETIC METHOD IS TO CONNECET THE NERVES SYSTEM WITH THE SKELTAL-MUSCLE WORK. AT FIRST GLANCE, THESE LOOK QUITE SIMILAR TO THE EASTERN APPROACHES, WHICH EMPHASISE THE BODY AND MOVEMENT AWARENESS. HOWEVER, THEIR BASIC IDEAS ARE TO DRAW THE ANATOMICAL PICTURES FROM THE THIRD PERSON'S VIEW ON ONE'S BODY, AND THEREFORE, THEY HAVE THE OPPOSITE VIEWPOINTS FROM THE EASTERN PERSPECTIVES. SECONDLY, NATIVE AMERICANS 'BODY VIEW WAS BRIFLY DRAWN FROM THE NARRATIVE STORY CALLED THE GREAT BALL-GAME' WHICH DEALS WITH THE WAY OF THINKING FOR SUBLATION TO AVOID THE CONFLICTION BETWEEN THE TWO. THIRDLY, EASTERN APPROACHES WHICH ARE THE VIEWS OF THE INTROSPECTWE BODY CAPTURED FROM THE FIRST PERSON'S VIEW AND FUSE ONE'S BODY WITH THE OUTERWORLD. BASED ON THESE THREE PILED BODY FEATURES, IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT THE COLLEGE PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS SHOULD PLAY THE SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN TERMS OF DEEPENING THE MEANING OF HUMAN EXPERIENCE AND LET THE STUDENT UNDERSTAND THE SELF-RECOGNITION AS WELL AS THE CULTURAL ASPECTS OF THE BODY. FAINALLY, IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT THE COLLEGE PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM AS GENERAL STUDIES NEED TO BE MORE FULLY RECONSTRUCTED.
