Research Abstract |
In Edo age the study of Manyousyuu became popular by the Shintou priests and Buddhists priests, the reason why Manyousyuu was bring out by publishers and was spread out among people. In the latter half of the seventeenth century, Honzou-Koumoku which had been edited by Chinese botanist Jitin Ree was imported from Chinese, and Japanese researchers took up the study of animals and plants mentioned in Manyousyuu by that book. Japanese researchers wrote the many works that were composed by quoting passages from Honzou books. The most important works are as follow; Yoshie Kobayashi, Manyousyuu-Kinjyutyugyosoumokukou Tara Itou, Manyou-Dousyokukou Buddhist priest Syuntou, Manyousyuu-Meibutukou Shintou priest Tuguoki Arakida, Manyou-Hinruisyou Masazumi Kamoti, Manyousyuu-Hinbutukai In this study I took up the works of Kobayashi and Itou. I made data base about their interpretations of the animals and plants in Manyousyuu.
