Research Abstract |
We performed the joint research about war memory and its representation with the researcher of Japan, China, Korea, and Okinawa from 2003 to 2005. In this research, the war museum and the ruins of war in East Asia were analyzed using techniques, such as history, museum study, pedagogy, and philosophy. We analyzed how the war museum in East Asia would exhibit invasion of Japan, and solved the contents. And the existence of a war museum and war memorial which was not known was clarified in Japan until now. And we analyzed about the cultural and educational role which a war museum plays in China and. Korea when forming recognition of history. It is an important subject in East Asia in the 21st century to share the recognition of history about war in the 20th century. In this research, it was able to check that it is important to share recognition of history with the researcher of China and Korea. Based on the point, the result of this research was published as a research document in Japan. It is the work "Reexamination of a Peace concept and the Memorial of war" edited by Yoshihiko Kimizuka in 2006.
