Research Abstract |
During the Asian Pacific Wars about 40 thousands Chinese were transported to 135 places in Japan and 7 thousands died of hard labor or ill-treatment in the foreign country. For a long time such a history has been neglected, but prompt research will be expected because of advanced age of survivors. In order to make the whole structure clear, this research focused following points. 1.I visited several places in Shendong sheng, Hebei sheng and Henen sheng in order to have interviews with survivors and families. A part of these hearings in published in my article. A survivor, whom I met in China in December of 2004, re-visited his work place of Osaka in October of 2005 after an interval of 60 years. Interview with him in China and Osaka is very valuable. Method of aural history is important and the same time the positionality of historians is fundamentally brought to account. 2.According to Law Concerning Access to Information I could gather materials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Welfare concerning this research. After the analysis I made it clear that problems of the forced mobilization of Chinese to Japan during the Asian Pacific Wars were not resolved, but continued in the unsolved situation after the end of war. The complex mechanism of the compensation from the Japanese government to concerned Japanese firms is made clear by analysis of various materials. From the problems of the forced mobilization of Chinese to Japan a continuity of the war-period and the post-war period would be able to be described more complex.
