Research Abstract |
This research aims to re-examine the Islamic research in Wartime Japan, its contribution to the one after the war, and its continuousness through classifying and analyzing the references deposited by Greater Japan Muslim League, which is stored in the Central Library of Waseda University. As a fruit of classification of the reference and total compiling the database funded by Waseda University by 2002,"CD-ROM : The List of References Deposited by Greater Japan Muslim League" was issued. While contributing to increase the number of its users, errors and omissions were found. This study has corrected some of them and issued the revised version. In addition to examining the reference deposited by Greater Japan Muslim League itself as a source material, this study has re-examined the Islamic research in wartime Japan, its contribution after the war and its continuousness based on ; 1)collecting and analyzing magazines of Islamic research organizations, such as "Muslim League" "World of Muslim" "Muslim Issues" and "Islam" as the accomplishment of Islamic studies in wartime Japan, 2)analyzing the structure of organization and activities of the Association of Greater Japan Muslim League ; it reached the following conclusion so far; The heritage of Islamic Studies in Japan which was active during the war, was inherited by the research organization after the war. Its succession of subject or activity in the research was inherited by researchers in postwar Japan in part, but it is not cleared yet how was activities around Showa 20 to 21, so it requires further analysis of the Reference Deposited by Greater Japan Muslim League.
