Research Abstract |
The primary purposes of this study are to (i)review the relationship between school education and folkloric performing arts in Iwate Prefecture ; (ii)research on "Nanatsumono" of Kagura descent and "Nanatsumono" of Kenbai descent, passed down in the coastal areas in Iwate Prefecture ; and (iii)present the methodology and viewpoint on introduction of folkloric performing arts to school education through practical approach to folkloric performing arts at university. This study has brought the following specific results : 1.In the classification of folkloric performing arts, "Nanatsumono" was positioned as Furyu (one of the kinds of folkloric performing arts) and there was identified a clear difference between "Nanatsumono" of Kagura descent and "Nanatsumono" of Kenbai descent. 2.Through the review of research on folkloric performing arts conducted by the Education Committee of Iwate Prefecture on the whole prefecture level in the year ended March 31,2005,the situations were grasped on overa

ll trend of school education and folkloric performing arts in Iwate Prefecture and schools taking up "Nana tsumono". 3.It was proved that a plural number of "Nanatsumono" played around the coastal areas of Iwate Prefecture had been born on the basis of "Nanatsumono" played in Shittogi-jishi of Kuromori-Kagura and had undergone change and continued to be passed down to the present time. 4.Through a fieldwork at Omoto Elementary School, the origin of four types of "Nanatsumono" and the subjects of play, etc. were grasped and identified, and through information obtained by means of interview and questionnaire, sentiments and feelings harbored by school children and teachers were recognized. 5.Basic study was conducted primarily with respect to Kuromori-Kagura, a source of "Nanatsumono" of Kagura descent, Nakanonanazumai, a representative of "Nanatsumono" and Nakasatonanatsumai, a play that has most fascinated the author. 6.With respect to the methodology on introduction of folkloric performing arts to school education, a practical study was conducted on the two methods, "Tradition-Passed Down" type and "Development of Music Elements" type, that have been identified and presented by the author herself. Such study resulted in passing down of Nakasatonanatsumai to Iwate University. The method of a new approach to folkloric performing arts in school education was presented.
