Research Abstract |
In recent years, electric power system becomes larger and more complex because of enlargement of power flow in wide area, the deregulation of electric utilities and the full-scale entry of Power Product Companies. In order to cope with these problems, the advancement of the PSS(Power Stabilizing System) are expected. On the other hand, in recent years, phasor measurement unit(PMU) in power system by using GPS(Global Positioning System) was introduced and applied to a static state estimation, various protections, and so on. In the near future, it is expected applying the PMU based technologies to various fields in power system. In stabilizing control of power system, power information which are measured or estimated at multi-points by using the PMU will be aggressively utilized. In this research, we propose the control system on basis of the robust control theory, which can improve stability of power system in wide area The proposed control system is based on the "hierarchical power and information network" ; that is, the feedback control system is hierarchically constructed by using information of wide area system in correspondence with the level of reliability. The results of the research are as follows : 1.The control design method based on the hierarchical information network is proposed. The control structure is constructed based on the grade of information reliability. 2.The dynamic impedance model for the interconnected large power system is introduced for designing the control system. This enables the PSS to compensate flexibly against power network uncertainties, which including the fluctuations of both the inter-area oscillation and the local oscillation. 3.The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by some numerical simulations using IEEJ WEST 10-machines model.
