Research Abstract |
1. The real-time color 3D display system based on the reconstruction of parallax rays was described. This display system consists of a holographic screen constituted of holographic optical elements and a digital micromirror device as an spatial light modulator. The main feature of this system is that can display animated color 3D images such as the holo-video system with viewing angle within 56 degrees. 2. We have proposed and implemented an enhanced 3D display system using double display devices. Experimental results shows that it is possible to widen the viewing angle and the viewing zone using the double-device system. 3. We have proposed and implemented the multiview camera system to obtain the ray data of real 3D objects for the real-time color 3D display system. The experimental system consists of 9 COMS cameras and the image processor using FPGA. In this system, the time to be able to observe a reconstructed 3D image is about 1 second. If the camera system consists of 9 CMOS cameras and 9 image processors, and each image processor controls 1 camera, the time to able to observe can be reduced.
