Research Abstract |
1) Functions of voltage-dependent calcium channels As a cation channel family member, we investigated functions of voltage-dependent calcium channels. Roles of voltage-dependent calcium channels in nociceptive neurotransmission were analyzed (Murakami et al., Neuroscience letters, 2004, Murakami et al., Brain Res., 2004). Importance of β3 subunit on insulin secretion through increase in IP3 production was proved (Berggren, et al., 2004). Inhibitory effects of perfuorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfuorooctanoate (PFOA) on L-type calcium channels were evaluated (Harada et al., 2005). We clarified involvement of Thromboxane A2 and prostaglandin F2a in inflammatory tachycardia (Takayama et al., 2005). 2) Identification of murine PKD2L1 (TRPP2L1) We cloned murine PKD2L1 gene, which is a member of TRP channel family. PKD2L1 forms functional cation channels on the plasma membrane by interacting with PKD1 (Murakami et al., J. Biol. Chem., 2005). 3) Functional analysis of TRPC Using overexpression transgenic mouse, regulatory role of neuron-restrictive silencing factor (NRSF) in expression of TRPC1 was clarified (Ohba et al., 2005). Regulatory effect of unoprostone on store operated Ca^<2+> entry (SOCE) in human aortic smooth muscle cells was investigated (Watanabe et al., 2005).
