1:Pancreatic cancer cell lines, PANC-1,BxPc3,and MCF 7 were incubated with Porfimer sodium. Concentration of Porfimer sodium was 5,10,50,100,and 200 μg/ml. The cell death rate was evaluated and compared. The cell death rates of PANC-1 were 2%,7%,18%,25%, and 31% at each concentration of Porfimer sodium. The cell death rates of BxPc3 were 0%,3%,8%,17%, and 25%. The cell death rates of MCF7 were 0%,2%,5%,11%, and 15%. The cell death effect was considered to be concentration of Porfimer sodium dependent. 2:In order to confirm the cell death effect of ultrasound beam radiation, pancreatic cancer cell lines, PANC-1,BxPc3S, and MCF7 were irradiated at 0.5W,1.0W,2W, and 3W with duration of 10sec,30sec,60sec, and 180sec. The results were as follows. The cell death rates of PANC-1 were 0%,2%,4%,5%,10% at US power of 0.5W with irradiation time of 10sec,30sec,60sec,180sec in order. The cell death rates of BxPc3 were 0%,0%,0%, and 0% in the same condition. The cell death rates of MCF7 were 0%,1%,2%,2%, and 4% in the same condition. The cell death rates of PANC-1 at 1W were 0%,4%,6%,8%,12%. Those of 2W were 1%,5%,20%,30%,50% and those of 3W were 10%,30%,60%,80%, and 90%. The cell death rates of BxPc3 at 1W were 0%,2%,4%,10%, and 15%. Those of 2W were 10%,15%,20%,35%, and 55%. Those of 3W were 15%,25%,40%,60%, and 85%. The cell death rates of MCF7 at 1W were 2%,8%,12%,20%, and 30%. Those of 2W were 4%,10%,14%,35%, and 45%. Those of 3W were 5%,10%,30%,55%, and 85%. 3:According to the results, synergic effect between porfimer sodiume and US irradiation was expected.
