Research Abstract |
One-year prospective study indicated that the contraction of anterior capsule opening does not parallel with the development of posterior capsule opacity in patients with diabetes mellitus. Lens epithelial cells (LECs) after cataract surgery had low IL-1 and TGF-β activities and increased during the proliferation and extension of epithelial cells in culture, in particular diabetic eyes.
