| Research Abstract |
Obtained information by means of questionnaires three times from members of Japanese Society for Theatre Research and analyzed them. Gathered, from websites and other sources, information of theatre courses offered currently and information related with theatre education, classified, categorized, and analyzed. Held a meeting and two conferences three times, each open to public. Had research meetings by the members frequently.
At the 2003 academic year public meeting held in Tokyo, a variety of cases of theatre education practiced mainly by the research members were reported and discussed. A field work session to a high school which has theatre-minor courses was organized and conducted by the research group. The first conference was held in Osaka, research results from the survey on theatre courses offered at Japanese colleges and universities and information related with theatre education there were reported and discussed.
In the 2004 academic year, held two intensive meeting for discussions by the members and another conference open to public. At the conference: 1. Research trends in foreign countries on theatre education; 2. Results from field works in some theatre courses in Japan; 3. Advocacy of theatre education -- were given by the research members and discussed with the participants.
These results will be on the special issue on theatre education of a journal published by Japanese Society for Academic Research, 2006.
