Research Abstract

ハレー彗星ダストの赤外観測で初めて,結晶質のシリケート・ダストの存在を示すスペクトルが観測されて以来,多種の天体で普遍的に存在するらしいことが観測的に明らかにされつつある.本研究では,多種の天体で観測されつつある結晶質ダストに着目し,結晶化素過程およびダスト粒子のミクロな構造の研究,天体環境の熱史のプローブとして用いるための基礎研究,およびこれらの研究をもとにした「最高到達温度計」の確立についての研究を行なう.
昨年度からの研究である彗星シリケート・ダストの新しい結晶化メカニズムの実験的検証をさらに進めた.その結果,アモルファス・シリケート粒子の表面を他の物質で覆ったコア-マントル構造をもつ粒子において,結晶化温度が低下することを確証した.これとともに,ダスト粒子の結晶化や生成実験において,今後の研究につながる広範な成果が得られた.理論的研究においては,非熱的結晶化モデルを完成し,短報を出した.これは現在印刷中である.詳細な論文は現在準備中である.
本研究において宇宙麈の結晶化についての広範な研究の基礎づけを完成した.これをもとに新たな展開として,シリケートメルトの結晶化実験を解析し,結晶化条件の定式化の研究に着手した.この研究では,結晶化度の温度履歴依存性を明確化するとともに,その定式化を行ないつつあり,熱史プローブの具体化に繋げたいと考えている.
