水素注入による[磁性金属/希土類金属]多層膜の層間交換結合の動的制御

Research Abstract

新規機能性材料の創製を目指して,新たな組み合わせである(1)Co/YおよびCo/Yb積層膜の構造および磁性・伝導性の水素注入による変化を検討した.また,Fe/Y積層膜において(2)水素注入による層間交換結合の制御と,(3)光による層間交換結合の制御を検討した.その結果,以下の知見を得た.
(1)Co/YおよびCo/Yb積層膜の構造および磁性・伝導性の水素注入による変化
いずれの積層膜においても,水素注入に関係なく磁気パラメータ(残留磁化比,飽和磁化)は変化せず,層間交換結合の水素注入による変化が観測されなかった.この原因は,Co/YおよびCo/Yb界面の平坦化が水素注入により起こらないことによっている.
(2)Fe/Y積層膜における水素注入による層間交換結合の制御
0.80〜1.00nm厚のY層厚領域では,水素注入前の層間交換結合は反強磁性結合であることを,強磁性共鳴測定と磁化測定から明らかにした.このY層厚領域の結合状態は,0.1MPa圧の水素雰囲気中で30〜45秒程度水素注入すると,反強磁性結合から強磁性結合へ遷移する.この結合の水素注入時間による変化は,Y層の結晶構造が,30〜45秒程度水素注入すると,hcp-YH_3へ変化することに起因している.
(3)Fe/Y積層膜における光による層間交換結合の制御
光励起をしても,水素注入前後の層間交換結合挙動は変化しなかった.この原因としては,いずれの場合も,スペーサ層(YおよびY-H層)において光によるキャリアの励起が起きていないことによっている.
以上に述べた(2),(3)の結果から,Fe/Y積層膜では,水素注入による層間交換結合の制御は,低圧かつ短時間の水素注入条件のもとで可能であること,また,光による層間交換結合の制御は困難であることを明らかにした.
