| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
As the religious order, the Society of Jesus is characterized with its international perspective. And its tradition of the humanistic education, especially that of the rhetoric education, concluded in the flexible attitude to the social actuality. Our investigation have made clear that these characteristics of the Society of Jesus brings its basic attitude for the a dialog with various culture.The Catholic humanistic education, especially that of the Society of Jesus, after the Second Vatican Council shows the emphasis of social justice.It became clear that this direction can give various suggestions to the modern society in which globalization is progressing and is faced with problems, such as the increase in immigration and expansion of the economic discrepancy in the global level.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
特に、グローバル化が進展しつつあり、移民の増加、地球レベルでの経済格差の拡大といった問題に直面している現代社会に対して、人文社会系の学問および人文主義的教育の意義が問われている。そうした中、イエズス会およびこれを中心とするカトリック的人文主義教育の伝統が示している国際的視野、および社会的現実に対する柔軟な対応をもたらしていることが明らかになった。そしてこうしたイエズス会およびこれを中心とするカトリック的人文主義教育が、現代示している社会正義の強調という方向性がもつ社会的意義が明らかになった。
