Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Before the design of the first workshop an online needs analysis questionnaire on problems which English teachers in Japan face, and possible topics for the workshops was created. This questionnaire was sent to teachers who had previously attended teaching seminars at Nanzan University. Data analysis showed that the majority of the teachers wanted ‘Motivation’ to be the topic of the first workshop. After each workshop feedback was collected from the teachers regarding the workshop they attended, the content of future workshops, and the content of the Online Teacher Support Centre (OTSC). Expert teachers helped run the workshops. Feedback from the workshop participants was analysed and used to help refine the content of the OTSC. The feedback from in-service teachers about the OTSC has been extremely favourable. The workshops were also very well received.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
