Outline of Final Research Achievements

The main objective of this research is support to a decision making for the advanced prediction of temporal and spatial changes using a new flood risk model based on climate and socio-economic synarios (population and GDP) in Asian floodplains particularly developing countries.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は、大規模な国際河川における緊急及び長期的な洪水モニタリングの高度化のため、アジア諸国における河川氾濫リスクを出来る限り正確に推定できるモデルとアルゴリズムを開発する基礎研究である。本研究の水害リスク評価プロセスは、広域的な国土モニタリングおよび水災害リスク管理、国家政策のフレームワークの標準化など貴重な防災情報を氾濫危険区域に住んでいる地域住民へ信頼性の高い防災リスク情報を提供すし、洪水被害軽減及び緊急復興活動支援にも貢献できた。
