Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to understand the nuclear matter equation of state (EOS), especially the isospin asymmetry term, so-called "symmetry energy", we have established the method to directly determine the nucleon density distributions and the neutron skin thicknesses because the symmetry energy is known to have strong correlation with the neutron skin thicknesses of double magic nuclei. We have also extended this experimental method to unstable nuclei, finally have successfully measured proton elastic scattering of 132Sn in inverse kinematics. In addition, we have developed new methods to investigate the EOS with the systematic change of density distributions, or alpha-clustering in medium-heavy nucleus.
