Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In this year, the research orientation was still going on the evaluation of the micro structures of randomly oriented strands (ROS) composites fabricated with carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastics (CFRTP) as well as the mechanical properties verification and the corresponding simulation methods. Two 3D X-ray micro CT methods based on different image processing algorithms are studied and the acquired internal geometry information are applied to two different mechanical modeling processes. The combination of X-ray micro-CT methods and analytical simulation models open the new ways for comprehensive solution methodologies of discontinuous CFRTP analyses with criterions and suggestions of corresponding applications.
