Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成２９年度の研究実績状況について、①現地調査、②論文・書籍の執筆、③研究報告の順で述べる。
①今年度は熊本県水俣市で２回、札幌市で１回の現地調査を行なった。まず、前者では、認定水俣病患者の入所施設である「明水園」を運営する水俣市社会福祉事業団や、胎児性・小児性水俣病患者の日常生活支援を行う団体に対して聞き取りを行なった。後者の札幌市での調査は、上述の「ほっとはうす」を利用する患者とその支援者が原発事故後北海道へ自主避難した人びとに招かれたシンポジウムに参加し、その後、自主避難者に対して、福島原発事故と水俣病事件の類似点や相違などの聞き取り調査を行った。合わせて札幌でも患者や支援者に対する聞き取りを実施している。
②今年度一年をかけて、博士学位請求論文に学振特別研究員としてこれまで３年間にわたり行ってきた調査結果を書き加えた書籍の執筆を進めた。平成３０年度前半のうちに世織書房より『胎児性患者たちはどう生きていくか－〈被害と障害〉〈自立と支援〉の間を問う－』と題した単著が出版されることになった。なお、平成３０年４月の段階ですでにゲラは完成している。
③今年度は２つの国際学会に参加した。５月にスウェーデンのストックホルムで行われた国際学会では、環境正義論の観点から水俣病問題を論じ、これをアメリカの同種の議論と比較する研究報告を行った。また１２月に韓国の亀尾市で行われた国際学会では、環境正義論からの日米の環境社会学の比較を行った。こちらは水俣病問題という個別具体的ジリよりも公害問題一般から論じた。なお、この学会での研究報告は招待講演として行われたため研究費は用いていない。
