Outline of Final Research Achievements |
I have been engaged in the research and development towards an automatic scoring system dealing with kanji characters that can be applied to certification exams such as “Kanji Kentei,” with the goal of raising educational outcomes in actual university education. Technically, I developed a matching method between the shape of standard character and that of input character written by the examinee, a scoring method which is stroke order and stroke number free and a method of summing up the points of deduction to defects of input shapes in this research. As a system development, I operated the automatically scoring system in actual university classes that reflects all the contents of the document released by the Agency for Cultural Affairs "About guidelines on font and letter for the list of kanji designated for everyday use." In the industrial field, I work with Hitachi Social Information Services, Ltd. who plans to commercialize the system in the future.
