Outline of Final Research Achievements

When people recognize an object, they focus on colors and do not understand its shape correctly. In this research, we have developed origami teaching materials to enhance the ability to recognize shapes correctly. The teaching materials consist of (1) sample (a geometric origami model), (2) paper, (3) instruction manual on teaching materials, and (4) folding chart. In classes, (1) Distribute ① and ② to students. (2) The student carefully spreads the sample and examines the folding line structure to reproduce the same object as the sample. (3) Take a lecturer's examination. (4) If they pass, then try other models. (5) In case of failure, try again with new paper. Increase the ability to grasp shape by repeating steps (1) to (5). We made about 20 origami kits including snowflakes, diamonds, perfumes, star drops and so on.
