Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, while continuing development and practice of the familiar food-related chemical experiment procedures and instruction methods of individualized tutorial experience-style, we developed English demonstration methods of the chemical experiments of observation/participation-style, such as "Chemical Magic Shows". The final methods were planned to be compiled as an English book. For the food-related chemical experiment procedures and instruction methods of individualized tutorial experience-style, we established and practiced the experiments of “Making starch syrup”, “Making bottled orange”, and “Alginic acid beads”. For the chemical demonstration experiments of observation/participation-style, nine experiment presentation methods of the chemical magic that have been frequently carried out so far, were published as books [Japanese ed. (2018), and English ed. (2019), with a CD containing supplementary materials such as presentations, respectively].

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
大学生が授業の一環として演示・指導する実践を通じ,受講者に,理科が身近で役に立つことを実感させる機会を提供できる。化学マジックショー演示実験を英語で行うことで,学生が化学の知識や実験技能とともに,化学英語やプレゼンテーションに必要な英語を習得できる。開発した教材と指導法の公表は現場教員の理科実験指導力の向上に貢献できる。化学マジック教材と指導法を英語版の実験集として出版することにより,化学教育で国際的に貢献できる。最終的には,理科が,ふだんの生活や,社会に出てから役に立つことを理解した児童・生徒・大人(一般市民,有為な理科教員)をグローバルに育むことになる。
