Outline of Final Research Achievements

Promoting genome-cohort studies require not only accurate understanding of genetic disorders, but also genomic science education. However, few studies have been conducted about the genomic literacy of high schools students. The present study aimed to investigate the actual condition of genomic science education in high schools and to establish the educational program concerning ethical and social issues.
We developed questionnaires about genomic literacy and the actual condition of genomic science education in high schools, however, they did not go far enough to investigate due to beyond the level of the higher education curriculum. It is necessary to build a solid foundation for survey and strive for cooperation with the board of education.
