Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Gidayu-bushi is a genre of joruri, accompaniment musical narrative of the Japanese puppet theater, Bunraku. It is founded by Takemoto Gidayu in 17C and has been inherited as a kind of the shamisen music to date. The approach of the studies from the field of literature and drama to Gidayu-bushi is advances now, but the historic approach from a music side does not yet. This study decodes the shamisen score of Gidayu-bushi of the oldest late 1700s and clarifies the historic change as the musical melody. I translated the melody of shamisen restored to the original state to current musical score. As a result, it was revealed that some patterns of the historic change in the music side existed. This study will become the study to capture the historic change of the joruri music three-dimensionally.
