Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Epidemiologically, obesity is known to be associated with prostate cancer development. In order to investigate its mechanism, we focused on Fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP 4) which is one of adipokines. In this study, it was revealed that FABP4 is involved in activation of PI3K / Akt pathway and cell proliferation by interaction with lipolysis stimulated lipoprotein receptor present on the cell membrane of prostate cancer cells.
