Outline of Final Research Achievements

Plants have remarkable capacity for regeneration upon stresses. However, molecular mechanisms how wounding induces callus formation and successive organ/individual regeneration are still elusive. Recent studies start to uncover that epigenome alteration is critical steps for gene expression and cell fate specification. This study, by comprehensive understanding of these factors, succeeded to reveal a part of mechanisms on plant cell dedifferentiation and redifferentiation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
