| Research Abstract |
We had researched on interrelations between local city community (Ube and Syunan in Yamaguchi Prefecture) and information media for three years. Through this research, we got many findings. Following items (1〜5) are main findings.
1. Speaking the relation of local news paper to community consciousness, inhabitants who are subjective and active to local affairs are, at high rate, reader of local news paper.
2. Viewing about the relation of community consciousness to inhabitants attributes, those who have positive attitude to community have mostly following personal attributes (1〜3): 1.Long term dweller. 2.Advanced age. 3.0n vocation, "agriculture", "independent business", "public officer or organization officer". They are main human resources for community activities and also earnest readers of local news paper. For them, local news paper is very important information media.
3. Those who have participated in community activities either as a leader or as a follower, in contrast with non-participated inhabitants, are thinking with local news paper as an important information resource. Community and local news paper are in interdependent relationship.
4. As resources of local information, newspaper and publicity of administration are playing very important roles. In contrast with them, roles of radio, television and internet are little especially in Ube.
5. About the prospect of local news paper, inhabitants are feeling it as indispensable to the community. If the community is indispensable to human life, good local news paper will survive forever.
