| Research Abstract |
When we reuse software, granularity of the software unit is very important. Application framework and components are effective granularity for reusing software. In e-Learning domains, instructional materials based on SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) and open LMS (Learning Management System) are designed
and developed.
We have already developed a repository based integrated development environment for e-Learning system which is called REBECCA. Application framework for e-Learning, instructional objects, and pedagogy objects are stored in the repository. The repository is implemented by CORBA.
We developed instructional objects which are based on SCORM2004; the instructional objects have three different levels: beginner level, intermediate level, and advanced level. Adaptive e-Learning systems provide adaptive instructional objects for individual learners' understanding.
We also designed an implementing method for using Reload Editor, which is an open source SCORM tool. It is useful for sequencing function of SCORM2004. Web service is an effective technology for REBECCA in a distributed environment.
