Research Abstract |
This research begins with the transcendence of human existence as clarified by Aquinas on the Human Being-The transcendence of the Human Being as a Person-(Chisen Shokan, January, 2005). The modern meaning, which Aquinas's community theory has from a viewpoint of movement to the common good, is clarified, and, set as the purpose of research. Research into community theory and the common good according to Thomas Aquinas was completed, and submitted to Kobe University. This doctoral dissertation is comprised of five portions. In part I "community theory and persona", the relation between a community and person is discussed from a viewpoint of "movement", "purpose", and "customs" of people. The structure of a community from the viewpoint of order is discussed in part II community theory and order. In part III community theory and natural law the relation between a person and a community is made clear from the. viewpoint of a natural law. Justice is discussed concerning a concrete target to arrange attachment in a community in part IV community theory and justice. In part V community and common good is discussed in relation to a "self-others-community". The conclusion discusses the modern view which Aquinas's community theory has in the conclusion "a view of the community theory in Aquinas". More than 270 references are cited, and final proofreading is now under way. It is due to be published from Chisen Shokan in September, 2008.
