Research Abstract |
In the both academic year I scrutinized and translated the DE MUSICA of Arisitides Quintilianus (Book one). This volume is the sincere explanation of Aristoxenus' "Elementa Harmonica" and "Elementa Rhythmica". This volume is, however, full of disorderness because of auther's not-understanding on the theme. I corrected and re-organized it from the theoretical point of view. It is the discourse of the system of notes that is theoretically, especially important. I extracted the process of the ancient greek Harmony's coming into existence from this esplanation. One more important point is the explanation on ‘tonos' in the chapter 10 and 11. I scrutinized these chapters to draw the real meaning of ‘tonos'.
