Research Abstract |
1.This research concerns a field study of multilingual situation in Swiss Romansh area. In 2005, we could successfully acquire the latest data and documents on this subject, visiting the Institute of Rumantsch Grischun Dictionary in Chur, and with special cooperation of the specialists, we could prepare a further research in this matter. 2.By a special aid of Lia Rumantscha, a foundation for promotion of Romansh language and culture in Chur, we achieved a close observation of linguistic consciousness in morphosyntactic domain under the multilingual situation of this area. 3.In order to investigate a possible structural interference between romance type phrase structures and germanic types, we could build a corpus of popular tales of the region to have a customized kwic concordance and word list by frequency. 4.The results of this study will be soon published with particular regards to a dynamic aspects of multilingualism of Romansh speakers.
