Research Abstract |
In KEK, we have a lot of experience of the development and operation of superconducting magnets and dedicated helium cryogenic systems. We started to research superconducting magnets and dedicated helium cryogenic systems in KEK and collected data concerning trouble experience. In these steps, we defined what sort of data we target. The data were separated to two categories. 1.common parameters for superconducting magnets and dedicated helium cryogenic systems 2.examples concerning failures and troubles. As a next step, we researched domestic and foreign systems which were finished, running and future plans. We contacted with people who have charge of the system to ask failures and troubles. Through these steps, we decided a policy of the database. 1.Maker names were not stated in both of common parameters and examples concerning failures and troubles. 2.Laboratory names were not stated in examples concerning failures and troubles 3.In examples concerning failures and troubles, we take two steps to open the data to the public. User can access easy list of failures classified according to the place where the failure occurred. If a user wanted to see more detailed information, the user is urged to fill the form and submit it to us. We judge the purpose and if the purpose is confirmed to be for research, development and practical operation, we send more information to the user. We researched domestic and foreign systems on the base of above policy. We needed to contact the person who have charge and see the system to collect examples of failures and troubles. We also researched and carried out experiments about our trouble for a controller of a cryogenic system which was caused from radio-active circumstance. The result can be referred as Useful Notes from a top page of the database homepage. Based on these policy and information, we developed a database. At first the database was tested in the closed network inside KEK. After tests, the database was opened to the public in WWW.
