| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aims to develop new Japanese teaching materials using classical literature. In this study, we emphasized the historical transition of the Japanese writing system. That is the fact that different styles of writing systems have existed simultaneously throughout each era. We examined different texts of the same source, and clarified differences in thinking style based on the following viewpoints.(1 spoken language and writing language, (2 Chinese writing style `kanbun-kundokubun` and Japanese writing style`wabun`. Based on the results, we developed learning materials and conducted verification classes.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究では、日本語話者にとって、その自明性を問うことが難しい思考のレベルにおいて学習者を縛っている「国語の特質」を明らかにしようとするものである。この「国語の特質」を日本語の歴史的変遷の中に見出すことで古典を教材化するための調査研究を行った。こうした教材による学習を通して、学習者は自らの言語活動についても自覚的に捉え直すこととなる。また、自分自身が読み・書くこと、考えることに影響を与え、また変容させうる可能性が古典の中にあることを知る古典学習は、「読み・書く」言語活動における思考（ものの見方・考え方）の深化を促す学習の可能性を開く。
