Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to examine the cognitive function, neural basis and computational model involved in individual differences in the acquisition, extinction, and relapse of fear conditioning. We conducted laboratory behavioral experiments, EEG experiments, WEB experiments, and cognitive modeling. We developed metacognitive tasks and a metacognitive model. Our results showed that metacognition associates with the acquisition and extinction process of fear conditioning but does not associate with trait anxiety. And, a latent causal model revealed that the less number of latent causes in acquisition and extinction leads to the higher the anxiety.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
