| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aim of A Study on "Nippon Eizo Kiroku Center": Revaluation on Films Left in the Closed Archives is to revaluate film collection owned by "Nippon Eizo Kiroku Center (Japanese Documentary Moving Images Center). Main work was cataloguing film collection, and We have completed the film catalogue which is more correct and available than the former list. Further we have made Japanese translation of voice data and subtitles from some important foreign films for using on screening or researching these films in the future.

文化遺産の保護はいまや世界の潮流となっているが、問題は山積みで、保護すべき対象なのにいまだ未着手となっているものが数多くある。なかでも映像遺産については、実質的な保存活動はまだ緒に就いたばかりというのが実情だといえよう。長い歳月陰に隠れてしまっていた貴重なフィルムの再評価を試みた本研究は、フィルムの基本データの完成といった学術的意義のみならず、上記のような状況を少しでも改善し、日本の映像文化のさらなる発展に寄与するものになったと考えられる。
