| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is an international trend to relax the framework of the adult guardianship system as a judicial system, attach great importance to collaboration with social welfare professionals and professional organizations, and respect the will of the individual as much as possible. Specifically, this will realize the purpose of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and reduce the burden on the courts. In reference to the clearing function of the Austrian Adult Protection Association, in Japan, I would like to recommend the utilization of a simplified court near us rather than the family court and the emphasis on social welfare councils as a core institution.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
障害者権利条約の趣旨に沿って成年後見制度を改革し、本人意思の尊重や裁判所の負担軽減を実現してきたオーストリアのここ数年の実績に注目して、科研費により同国の専門家を招請し、その内容や社会への浸透状況について紹介してもらい、日本の専門家と検討を行ってきた。学術的には成年後見制度の在り方との関係（社会福祉領域とのコラボレーション等）で貴重な観点が明らかにされ、社会的には、社協等の重視の方向が明らかにされた。
