| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, I clarified the theory and mechanism of aqua tourism, and examined the tourism policy theory that makes tourism and local residents life compatible from the view point of environmental sociology. At present, the tourism policy has been implemented in two major concepts. One is the concept of policy that tourists observe good manners. The other is the concept that local government divide regional space between local residents life area and tourism spot to protect local residents life from tourist crowd, because there is a limit to forcing tourists to improve manners. On the other hand, I clarified the necessity of the tourism policy theory that tourists observe the local rules related water resources shared by the local community.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
アクアツーリズムの魅力を探ると、地元住民の暮らしに息づいた水資源を開放し、観光客も利用できることにあることがわかってきた。だとすると、いかに住民の生活と観光を共存させるかが課題となるのだが、水場が観光資源化されると、次第に住民の利用が失われることになる。従来の研究では、その理由を観光客と地元住民の衝突や水場の管理組織の弱体化の問題として捉えてきたのだが、本研究では、水場の利用と管理の仕組みやルールに注目して観光化のプロセスを分析することで、住民が保持してきた水場を利用する“権利”が奪われることの問題であることを明らかにした。本研究の意義は、その知見を踏まえた政策論を提示したことにあるだろう。
