Research Abstract

体細胞が増殖分裂する過程で、複製された染色体のコピーが娘細胞へ均等に分配されるためには、染色体の中心部分にある動原体が反対方向からのスピンドル微小管によって捕らえられることが重要である。このためには、細胞分裂のときに、動原体部分の接着が維持されていることと、その向きが正しく制御されることが必要である。この過程には、我々が酵母において発見し命名したシュゴシンとMoa1というタンパク質が本質的な役割を持つことが明らかになった。この機構は、ヒトにおいても保存されていると考えられる。
