| Research Abstract |
『入唐求法巡礼行記』を中心として古代の東アジア世界における交流・交通の諸相を研究することを目的として、第一に『入唐求法巡礼行記』自体の詳細かつ丹念な検討を進め、諸本の校訂を経て、データベースを作成した。また、『入唐求法巡礼行記』の記載と円仁の行程を追跡し、具体的な交通路を復原することを目的に現地調査を行った。それらの成果は研究会やシンポジウムで広く社会に公開し、その一端を『円仁とその時代』として一書にまとめた
