Research Abstract |
In this research, we improved a network user authentication system Opengate that has been developed in our University. 1. We realized the IPv4/IPv6 dual stack flow control. Since flow control is performed based on the IP address, both the addresses of IPv4 and IPv6 are needed to know. We developed a mechanism for detecting the dual addresses, and implemented the IPv4/IPv6 dual stack flow control. 2. Many revisions were performed for improvement in convenience and stability as follows. The system parameters were changed to integrate into the XML configuration file. Specific user group can be controlled by using specific parameters. It becomes compatible with popular and secure authentication protocols. 3. We developed a new method for usage termination detection. Previously, Java Applet was used to detect the usage termination. But Java VM is omitted from new browsers. Thus Java Script was used instead of Java Applet, which repeats Ajax processing and maintains a TCP connection with server. 4. Using the Java Servlet environment, basic system was realized. Implementation of full functional and stable system is a future issue. 5. The developed program was distributed as an open source. The project was registered to Source Forge.net for the convenience of developer. The usage cases of the system are spreading.
