Research Abstract |
The research was oriented in design Programming and Distance Learning Software based on Multimedia representation of computations and data and WWW technologies. Original methods and tools were developed supporting on-line monitoring of remote applications including GRID projects. The WWW and movie-based monitoring components include static and dynamic monitoring schemes allowing watching state of the process in dynamics as well as results of computing. From the programmer's point of view, the monitor components contain a set of MPI-routines activating communication sessions and supporting on-line monitoring. The movie-based programming subsystem allows the user to design algorithms and programs like a movie creation. The programming process is in manipulating with special movie-program objects (MP-objects) generating automatically a part of an executable code as well as producing movie animation frames, which are adequate to the code generated. rmulas attachment/verification components. The movie-based formula notation is not only very close to the conventional mathematical expressions, but also includes special multimedia attributes like images, symbols and tables in order to improve the formula perception. Moreover, the algorithmic movie can automatically be represented as the HTML and/or Macromedia Flash reports that can be used in Distance Learning process. The executable code generated automatically can be executed in the WWW-based environment using any standard WEB browser. This environment supports different types of the user's projects distinguished according to programming platforms and languages, type of a target machine, user's specialization, etc. It includes also Distance Learning Projects considering as teacher/student programming workplaces as well as supporting non-programming courses. It provides the same working style and operations for the programming application design and execution as well as Distance Learning Process.
