Research Abstract |
1.two papers published in "Meridian", the organ of the Georg Buchner association of Japan deal with the volume "Leonce and Lena" arid "Woyzeck" that the Buchner Institute in Germany issued basing on the investigation into the original texts of meny years. My papers treat a lot of new readings presented in these volumes and try to demonstrate how the image of the author Buchner and his dramas are goingo to change as the result of the new positivistic results. 2.A paper appeared in "Georg Buchner Jahrbudh", the organ of the Georg Buchner association in Germany, deals with the ideological discrepancy of Buchner expressed in his first drama "Danton's death". This papaer aims at pointing out Buchner's strong tendency to the iealism which has been generlally neglected by german researchers. 3.An essay in the book which I published with other japapnese researchers of the European literature treats with comparative research between Buchner and Kenji Miwazawa. Both genius writers are regarded hier as thinkers who experienced idealistic itineracies driven by the desire for the absolute truth. 4.A paper in the book, which I publische with german and american Buchner researchers, treats with the Reception of Buchner in Japanese literature. The presentation of the Tanka, a Japanese poem on "Woyzeck", written by Takashi Okai, a representative Tanka poet, got a favorable notice.
