Research Abstract |
The study aims to examine sustainable urban forms in Japan that affronts rapid aging and population reduction. The main researches and studies : Recent academic debates in Japan and western countries about sustainable urban forms focusing compact city ; Typical regional planning and urban regeneration policies and projects and in Europe related with regional urban forms ; Accumulative tendency of the knowledge-based service industries and location factors of Japan and Korea; Urban spatial structure of Nagoya region using statistical data; Sustainability of suburban housing areas focusing on the conditions of blank lots and empty houses, and accounts and desires of inhabitants in Nagoya Region.
