| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research is to clarify how developed country collaborate with developing countries through educational development project.The authors analyzed relationship between educational challenges and sociocultural contexts in Myanmar, the Philippines, Palestine, Cambodia and some other countries.A number of challenges were identified, including power imbalance between students and teachers, regional gaps in the educational environment，school systems that are over reliant on the effort of teachers and the dissemination of new educational methods.
In addition, the authors clarified that it is necessary to make a long-term commitment, support collaboration between different organizations, consider the layer of development project and mutual communication among people who are involved in the project were indicated.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究成果の集大成である著書「途上国の学びを拓く」は，読者に「我々は教育開発をどのように捉え，どのようにして現地の人々と対話するのか」を問う一冊となっている．単に教育開発に係る諸概念や制度を解説するだけでなく，著者らが途上国に関わる事によって生じた様々な葛藤や苦悩，解決策が記されている．戦後始まった日本の政府開発援助がハードへの支援からソフトへの支援と切り替わりつつある中，今後読者が「援助する」という一方的な立場から脱却し，それぞれの国の文化や事情を理解しつつ，対話と協働する姿勢を促すことで今後我が国の人材が他国の人々と平和的に諸課題を解決していけるようになることを期待している．
