Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Life of patients with terminal cancer for the purpose of development of educational program to promote interaction between terminal cancer patients and nurses, by clarifying the view on life and death of patients with terminal cancer and the death experience were clarified by qualitative inductive research methods. Three themes were derived based on the life and death experiences of patients with terminal cancer: a new appreciation for the concept of an ordinary life after experiencing extreme suffering, a desire to pass away peacefully when sensing impending death, and a desire to remain useful to loved ones and others.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
