Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research project has two aims; 1) describe the inequality of educational attainment considering population dynamics, 2) clarify the mechanisms of inequality. We utilized "joint demographic mobility effect" (Song and Mare 2015) to grasp the inequality in educational attainment. Joint demographic mobility effect is describe the number of children who have university degrees. We found two things; 1) in women, the inequality is increasing, while, in men, the inequality is maintained; 2) junior college degree women were advantageous due to high fertility.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
